tony robinson

Tony Robinson is an Indiana native with over three decades of show business experience He started his professional career as a drummer at the age of twelve. A year later he expanded his understanding of theater by moving from the orchestra pit to the stage.

He took every opportunity to act in productions as diverse as "Finian's Rainbow" to Murat/Sade". While in college he studied and developed his acting and writing techniques and eventually moved into directing.

He collaborated with the late John Casella (keyboardist for John Mellencamp) on an experimental rock theater presentation. In 1976, Robinson expanded his experiences when he moved into radio. That led to the chance to join a television ensemble that produced a rather strange late night TV show in Indianapolis called, TURKEY HELPER.

In 1981 Tony moved to Los Angeles and began a career as stand-up comic that continues to this day. Over the last 20 years, he has appeared in comedy clubs worldwide including Las Vegas, Sweden, Denmark and numerous tours to Asia for the US military to perform for the troops (Bob Hope is too tired). In the 80-s combined, his skills in music and theater to direct and perform in stage shows aboard such luxury cruise ships as The Norway.

In the 90's Robinson returned to theatrical directing with the creation of two one-man shows for himself. From there, he went-on to direct a string of shows including an all Spanish language operetta, several one-performer shows (including a tribute to the late Pearl Bailey which gave him a chance to meet one of his musical idols, dmmmer Louie Bellson) and two well-received one act plays by award winning playwright, Brad Slaieht. It was during this same period (not wanting to miss the chance to experience the joys of fatigue and exhaustion), Robinson also signed on a staff writer with Burrud Productions.

His current endeavors include a scripting company with veteran writer/actor Danny Mora and the development of a new TV show for singing sensation Amanda Dumas He and writing collaborator Craig Frazier recently completed the pilot for new situation comedy while he and partners Brad Slaight and Mark Kadlec continue to produce stage olavs under the banner of TEN CENT CEEGAR Productions. Robinson is also a regular east member of the radio soap opera "Ifs Your World" which is heard daily on the nationally syndicated TOM JOYNER MORNING SHOW.
